Boutique bookkeeping for organized growth

Clean Books.
Clear Numbers.

Longleaf Ledgers provides reliable bookkeeping and financial reporting that helps small business owners understand their finances and make confident business decisions.

What I Do

Two ways to get clear on your numbers.

Most clients start with monthly bookkeeping. Once your books are clean, financial modeling turns them into a decision-making tool — for hiring, pricing, or walking into a bank with a real forecast.

Monthly · Recurring

Bookkeeping

Your books, reconciled and closed on a schedule — so you always know where you stand, without losing your evenings to untangling QuickBooks.

  • Bank & credit card reconciliation
  • Transaction categorization & monthly close
  • Clean Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
  • A one-page summary, in plain English
  • QuickBooks Online setup & cleanup

From $300/month

Final rate set after a free books review — most small businesses land between $300–$800/mo.

Project · Retainer

Financial Modeling & Advisory

The analysis a bank underwriter would run on your business — built for you, so you make the call with real numbers instead of a gut feeling.

  • Cash-flow forecasts & scenario models
  • Loan-readiness packages for banks & lenders
  • Budget vs. actual tracking
  • Growth, hiring & break-even modeling
  • Ongoing fractional financial advisory

From $1,500/project

Or as an ongoing advisory retainer from $750/month once your books are current.

About Longleaf Ledgers

Built by someone who's read the other side of the loan file.

Longleaf Ledgers is owned and operated by Ryan Winkler, a financial analyst with a background in credit underwriting, financial modeling, and due diligence at a large international bank. For years, Ryan evaluated businesses from the inside out — analyzing financial statements, understanding day-to-day operations, and identifying the strengths, risks, and opportunities behind the numbers. His experience also includes project finance, where he assessed major capital investments before they were approved.

Today, that same analytical approach helps small business owners gain confidence in their finances. Every set of books is handled with the professionalism and confidentiality expected in the banking industry — your financial information is reviewed thoroughly, treated with care, and never shared. Ryan is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and Longleaf Ledgers is a registered North Carolina LLC.

Based in Cary, North Carolina, Longleaf Ledgers proudly serves small businesses throughout the Triangle area. Whether you're looking to stay organized, prepare for tax season, or better understand your business's financial performance, you'll work directly with someone who doesn't just categorize transactions — he understands what the numbers are telling you.

Questions

Before you reach out.

Why hire a bookkeeper instead of doing it myself?

Doing your own books works — until the business grows and your evenings disappear into QuickBooks. Handing it off gives you accurate, current numbers without the time cost, plus a trained second set of eyes catching issues before they turn into tax-season problems.

How is this different from what my CPA does?

Your CPA files taxes and gives big-picture advice, usually once a year. Bookkeeping is the month-to-month work that keeps your records accurate so your CPA has clean numbers to file from. The two work together — good books make your CPA's job faster and cheaper.

Is my financial data safe?

Yes. Your data stays in your own QuickBooks Online account with access granted to me — never shared — and protected by bank-level encryption. You remain the owner of your books at all times.

What software do you use?

QuickBooks Online, primarily — I'm a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. If you're on another platform, we can talk through whether a move makes sense or whether I work within what you already have.

Do you work with my industry?

Most small service- and product-based businesses are a good fit — contractors, restaurants, medical and dental practices, retail, real estate, and professional services among them. Not sure? The free health-check is the fastest way to find out.

What if I'm already behind on my books?

That's common, and it's fixable. Catch-up and cleanup work is scoped separately before monthly service begins, so your reporting starts from a clean, reconciled foundation instead of a backlog.
